Update featuring TMI
Feb. 21st, 2008 10:22 pmJust because:
And according to a quiz gakked from
faheud's journal, I am 54% evil. Bah. What do they know? I think the quiz betrayed some bias.
In other news:
Went to post office to mail a package for
etakyma. It was more than the $20 she gave me, so I put it on my card and kept the cash, thus negating the need to go to the bank.
Did not pick up the dry cleaning because I forgot the tags.
Went and met with the insurance agency assessor. Frustrating, but whatever.
Got an update on that today: The insurance company recommends totaling my car. According to their letter this gives me the maximum amount of $$ for the damage but doesn't require that I surrender my car. However, I have to call my insurance agency to make sure that I'll still be covered if I continue to drive it while looking for a new one.
I drove all the way out to
etakyma's place to satisfy her neurotic fear that she'd left water running in her bathroom. She had not.
Went to Target for a few things and saw that they had Supernatural Season 2 for $29.99. Caved, but only after stopping at a second Target on the way back from A's house.
Also went to Best Buy and found "The Dirty Dozen" for $10. This is important because I'm using it to write something and need it for research. Also bought a new set of headphones for my iPod shuffle and a new hands-free for my phone (which still needs a better test, because of course my father can't seem to hear *anything* when I'm using *any* hands-free device).
Went back to dry cleaners with the tags and successfully picked up dry cleaning.
Found ThroatCoat and it only took two grocery stores. Speaking of which, I should set up a cup of that.
And I had a pelvic ultrasound which was negative. Yay. (Short version: girl stuff. Nothing to worry about. Move along.) The most exciting thing about this was that 90 minutes before the test, I had to drink 32 ounces of water. That's one liter, folks. Of course, I thought I could drink it right up until the time of the test (or basically) and didn't realize until I got there that I was supposed to *finish* drinking a full hour before the test. Well, I'm here to tell you I'm glad I didn't know that. Because there is NO WAY I would have been able to drink a whole liter of water and hang on for like another 90 minutes. That's just...cruel.
Got home from that, made dinner that made me feel slightly queasy.
Changed the sheets (couple days overdue, nothing to do with drinking lots of water!), showered, but did not get around to washing dishes or doing laundry. Dishes tomorrow night; laundry Sunday, probably.
I did finish typing up "Trost Und Freude" based on my longhand draft and I cleaned up the ending a little. After so confidently stating that it would be 16 chapters... well, it's 17 at the moment--and actually the last two are longer chapters than the average length for this fic. I don't know if I can cut it down any further. I'd like to trim it up more, but I'm not seeing where right now. Problem is that the end has a lot of overlap (John, Dean, Sam's perspectives) and I don't want to lose that but I don't want it to feel redundant, either.
Oh, and watched the eclipse! It was very cold, but TCM was showing "Some Like it Hot" and every 20 minutes or so I would bundle up, go outside, look up, say something like, "Ooh," or "Shiny!" or "Not so shiny, but totally cool!" or just bask in the energy and magic for about a minute, then go back inside because did I mention it was FRIGGIN' COLD?
Today I felt like crap, between my throat and a headache. I didn't get nearly enough work done, and really must hunker down tomorrow and catch up. I'm also working on Saturday to make up for being out yesterday.
I also didn't burn down the building, but it wasn't for lack of trying, apparently. I had a leftover bit of soup from being out earlier this weekend, and I had a breadstick I was going to heat up as well and use to sop soup. Well. Little did I realize that the 60 seconds of breadstick heating would char the breadstick to bits and cause it to act a little like a lit cigar. I did NOT set off the smoke alarm, but the kitchen reeked of it. The breadstick actually melted a hole in the trashcan liner! I pulled it out and ran it under the tap for a few seconds before throwing it out again.
Then Rebecca and I tried to open the kitchen window, which wanted to open way, way too wide, and then we had to get John to help close it because it slipped its hinge. Whoops.
I'm just a disaster, apparently.
Meh. Okay. Tea and then bed.

Date: 2008-02-23 05:02 am (UTC)Just call us Craige's Haram... because he is always surrounded by us silly people. My computer is out of juice, so I ripped Jenn's out of her hand to say, so not surprised about your compatibilities.
Love you. Kiss kiss. (fuck off)

Date: 2008-02-23 05:51 am (UTC)Yeah, I'd say the compatibility is *about* right. I'd like to be able to do more with my own car, but of course my lease on the apt. limits that....
I'm heading to bed. Looks like the snow has stopped but we wound up with about 5 inches here, all of which must be cleaned off my car and the driveway before I can go to work tomorrow.
And my prescription cards STILL have not arrived in the mail. GRR. Very frustrating.
Love ya right back (and fuck off!)
