Okay... HATE the setup. All the worst effects of using Bela to set the boys up for a fall. (And I'm apparently wrong that they didn't really fix the continuity at all for the order flip. Damn, I really hoped they'd have had time to smooth the transitions a little better. I wonder if they're going to release the DVD in the correct order or keep this order?)

Hey, Peter DeLuise is in this!

Otis the drunk is in the cell...

Hee! Mayberry PD. I'm thinking like Henricksen!

Uh-oh, Forced separation. Ultimate threat.

Groves: He's SOOO possessed.

Yup. Called that.

Okay, but was he randomly possessed ahead of their capture on the off chance that H would find them?

Aw. Reedy! I liked Reedy.

So no, he wasn't randomly possessed; looks like they got wind of the capture and marshalled the forces.

Hey, Henricksen. Way to get badass. And way to be nice to Nancy.

Don't be a wuss. Heh!

Ah, but you still don't believe them. Good.

Sammy you buzzkill.

But you didn't shoot the deputy. Thank you, Dean.

Biggest "I told you so ever!"

Don't look at the flickering light, Dean. GO.

Cool cloud effect, though.

Nice effect wiht her reflection!

When do we figure they got the tats? That's been in a lot of fic.

Don't break the salt line you dumbass.

Heart to heart with Henricksen! Aw, and he and Dean have lots in common. Dean really does connect to people, no matter what the circumstances. He can't quite believe it and neither can Henricksen, but now that they're on the same side, they like each other. Kinda. I want more of this and I'd love to see inside Victor's head when he's contemplating having shot Sheriff Dodd.

Though I have to say that the show has twice now "solved" an antagonistic situation by turning the enemy into the thing they fear. First Gordon was turned into the thing he most hated and now H is convinced of the boys' "innocence" by being turned into a demon, even if only for five minutes. I'm not certain I like this trend in story-telling. It's awfully pat.

Lilith! Wow, we're really digging deep into Aprocrypha now. Great choice.

Virtue. Nancy.

And it blows Dean's mind. Whee.

"Get her? That was your whole plan, Ray?"

And he does it all basically one-handed. Oh, cute - the civilians on the outside to salt and lock them in, interesting. So that wasn't the whole plan.

And this would be Lilith.

Heh... Sammy, you dog. Piped through the PA. Heh.

BTW, new effect with the jerking head movements and all.

Dead...again.

OH, wait.. creepy kid. THIS would be Lilith. Oh, ack. Does that mean H is now dead too? Wah. Poor guy. I really like him as a character. He could even have come in handy in the future. Guess that's too much of an advantage. Can't have that.

And her eyes turn white. Heh. Hierarchy! Black = low, yellow = higher, white = Highest? Hee. How cool.

Though being a child... mm. Kinda like Claudia in "Interview with a Vampire"

Okay, don't like Ruby, but she has a point. That one demon did get away. But otherwise they had a good plan. They just didn't figure that once they were gone there'd be any continued threat to the others.

Ah, well. Another episode. Oddly I don't think it was as good as it could have been, and I'm really sad to lose Henricksen (Though we now have canon spelling of his name! Will have to freeze the screen after I've downloaded).

Hm. Maybe I'll like it better the second time around.

True, but my money is on dead!Arresting Officer demon.

And hey, we have some GOOD screen caps out of this episode... The boys' "Wanted" posters up on the wall behind possessed!Groves and Henriksen's photo on the TV.... Plus CANON Spelling of his name!

I really think the show tends to kill characters off too precipitously. Gordon I'm finally beginning to accept, because while he presented a threat, they'd gone about as far as they could with his character. The only thing they could have done more with was leading a hunter crusade vs. Sam, and since his main buddy in that was Kubrick, and he was nut-bat insane (thank you, Victor!), I suspect that we're supposed to understand that Bobby (and Ellen? Where The Hell is Ellen?) have kept that particular line of pursuit to a minimum Still it was a shame to lose both Kubrick and Gordon in one go, even if they were one-notes by that point.

But losing Henriksen and Reidy.... Dammit. Henriksen was going to turn hunter! You could see it! He and Dean bonded! I liked him even when he was a "bad guy" because he was utterly convinced he was right, but *not* in the crazy, over-the-top crusader way of K and G, but in a rational, I have all the evidence, these two are a menace to society, way. He really believed, based on what he had to work with, that Dean and Sam were criminally insane. And he was SMART without making the boys DUMB.

Grrr.

Y'know the other thing that bugged me about this ep? His possession was SO pat. Not just as I said originally, in that it's the one thing that convinced him they were telling the truth, but in that in was a little sloppy. I assume it was the same demon that had possessed his boss, but it's not quite explained. Where and when did the possession occur? Between the freak-out session and...what? When was Henriksen vulnerable to it?

I want an explainer on that.

Part of me wants to meet Jefferson and/or Joshua, as presumably Meg didn't get to them because we didn't hear they are dead. But the other part of me *doesn't* want them introduced because then they'll just get killed off. Ellen and Bobby (and Jo) are the only good guys so far who've recurred and *not* died.

Ooo, true, I forgot about him, he bugged out before the end of the exorcism. Thought now that I think about it, He might have been the one in the red-headed woman at the end, she had the same kind of attitude. Or the one in Henriksen, as you say. He was kind of the advance scout for the main force of demon smoke that arrived later.

I forget where I looked his name up the last time he showed up, but I still type it as "Henrdrickson" most of the time. editing is a PITA.

I really think the show tends to kill characters off too precipitously.

Oh absolutely. Kripke needs to let people live longer so we can reeeeeally get attached to them before he kills them. Or, you know, let them live for a change.

Except Bobby. There will be no killing of Bobby. *assumes defensive stance in front of Bobby.

Where The Hell is Ellen?

Well, this is my theory, but I doubt that's the canon case unless the writers start smoking some very bizarre plant-life. ;-)

And he was SMART without making the boys DUMB.

YES!!! That's it exactly! He even gave the boys opportunities to look even more kick-ass, taking out Swat teams, slipping out of the bank within a foot of Henriksen, the whole song and dance getting away from prison... Whereas an adversary like Ruby? No. Not the way she's being used, anyway.

Henriksen and Reidy as newbie hunters. Oh I so want fic in that AU 'verse. :-/

When was Henriksen vulnerable to it?

There's a missing scene in that, I think. Henriksen was a bit of a stress puppy, I think, so when his prize collar started to go south on him he may have had some stress issue flare ups, especially given his deputy director was killed, and the station's under siege. It doesn't have to have possessed him immediately, it could have hung out in the vents and crap until an opportune moment came up... hm. Lemme think about that.

Meeting Jefferson or Joshua would be neat, but part of me still says after 'Salvation' if any of John's hunter contacts who were just acquaintances rather than friends heard about demons going around killing off friends of the Winchester family, they'd be quick to change their phone numbers and move without forwarding address. Bobby, Pastor Jim, Caleb and Ellen were just made of sterner or rather more loyal stuff.

Ellen and Bobby (and Jo) are the only good guys so far who've recurred and *not* died

Well, there's Missouri, but I doubt we'll see her again. The actress has a regular role on Eli Stone. That and half of fandom was not too happy with her one appearance.

What gets me is that they don't have more phone contacts. I mean if Samantha Ferris wasn't available in person, they could have had one of the boys hang up and say 'Jefferson's got nothing' 'Ellen says hi' or even a voice-over, because those can be done from anywhere.

I think part of it though is that in the series they're trying to build a sense of isolation from even the hunter community for the boys. Which makes Ruby's presence that much more irksome. Initially, she was a good concept, but not well executed, now the concept's gone Mary-Sue, and, just, grr.
