So I'm watching the miniseries, Tin Man, on Sci-Fi.
Pretty inventive so far.
Nice twist--pardon the pun--on the twister and the reason "DG" (Dorothy Gale) leaves earth.
I thought that was Alan Cumming! I already love "Glitch" the scarecrow and his backstory. His costume has elements of Michael Jackson's scarecrow costume in "The Wiz" but I get the military thing. He did the pointing both ways thing from Ray Bolger! My favourite bit in the '39 film.
O.Z. = Outer Zone. Poppei = Poppies! Tin Man = a law enforcer for "central city" as opposed to Emerald City. I like how he starts off encased in metal, but is human, only hardened by his personal tragedies.
The munchkin equivs were weird.
OMG, is that David Carradine?
Oh, no, it's not.
I'm really getting tired of the endless repetition of the single musical motif. It sounds a little 10th Kingdomesque. I miss 10th Kingdom.
How does Cain know that Zero is now in charge?
Their panniers are bongos. How dreadful!
Dreyfuss reminds me of Robin Williams's turn as the guru penguin in Happy Feet.
Comments may get spotty because my father has called....third time today.
...Okay, done with Dad. Jeeza louisa.
Nice complexity. Mystic Man really does have secrets. Cool, I like that, even if he is a junkie crackpot.
Don't like DeMilo or how he's depicted, even if he is depicted as a loser. Though it is a canonical triad, so that's something.
Her pauldrons are just impractical.
More with the single motif!
Look, they're on Mount Caradhras....
She's an Ice Princess! Wait, we've changed screenplays again, we're in Doctor Zhivago. Or else she's going to start singing "Once Upon a December" from Anastasia.
Hey, a harp! Cool.
And a magic mirror.
Okay, this part is lame. Exposition time. A little too pat. I mean, seriously? She left for exactly long enough for Azkadelia to knock off DG? Feh.
Oh, and her name was really DG? Don't think so, gang. C'mon, not that inventive.
Ah, but we're back to parallels now, and she's looking in the crystal ball variant. Good girl! That was chutzpatific. (Shut up, it's a word because I say so.)
Okay, freaky with the CG flying bat-monkeys coming out of her chest.
Zero and Cain's fight is totally fakey. I mean, c'mon, the punches weren't close to landing. OTOH, I like the use of light and shadow in the window during their fight sequences.
Good pacing for the cliffhanger, and everyone is suitably screwed to hell. Hm.
Okay. I'll be back tomorrow. Although it's a Board meeting, but so far it's not too hard to follow even with other stuff going on. (Grr at my father.)
