Well, I got myself a ticket tonight on the way to rehearsal.

Yeah, it was dumb. It was dumber than dumb. I went through a yellow light...not realizing that I passed a cop to do it. Hey, it was dark. And I thought he was far enough ahead to have already gone through the same intersection. Whoops.

How much? $100. Shit.

Well, I'm going to send in the request for a court date, if nothing else to see if I can get them to reduce the fine.

But it's nice to know that the car gods still know I exist. Dammit.

Okay. Shower, finish packing. Take out the trash. Hm. Maybe that before shower.

What KILLS me is that I knew he was up ahead. I just hadn't realized he had STOPPED for the same light (in the other lane).

Usually I'm cautious the other way 'round - I see ski racks and take them for cherries. But no, this one time? Totally didn't see him.

You could be in NY and have a $45+ "Court Surcharge" added to the bill.

But NY does not seem to care about people running yellow lights, or even orange ones, or even red ones.

Yeah, that's what happened with my speeding ticket in Riga on the way back from Harvest Raids...last year? Between the court fees and then setting the fine above the minimum, that was a $205 expense!

As it's semi-local, there's no reason not to contest it.

Yup Fight it in court you'll get it suspended...I'm sorry but Yellow Light is NOT a stop light...if you were there you can go through it I don't know what the heck the problem is with Mass cops that they seem tot hink they can just blanket yellow lights and hit people with tickets. I got one when I first moved here and it got totally thrown out along with the other 5 cases that same day and the police chief of the town that gave them out got his butt chewed out by the Judge for it.
