Last Chance:
It's that time of year again, and SpellCast is looking for voice actors for our holiday radio play! In our last round, we had both first-timers and professional voice actors participate, so no previous experience is required.
Cast
Tonks
McGonagall
Ginny
Hermione
Harry
Ron
If you're interested in auditioning, you have two options.
1.) You can record your audition piece in a .mp3 and email it to auditions@fictionalley.org. This is going to be our recommended method for auditions to ensure the best possible quality and clarity. (Since you will also need to be able to record your part for the play if cast, you will need to know how to record your own voice and format it in a .mp3)
2.) Your other option is to call the FictionAlley voicemail line. From Skype you can contact the username 'FictionAlley', or phone 303-800-4342 in the US and +44 0161 408 3427 in the UK. Please reduce all background noise as much as possible for your audition. If you choose this method, it is imperative that you clearly spell your email address and FA username (if you have one).
When auditioning, you have a choice of reading one or both of the paragraphs below. (If you have the ability to do multiple accents, pick the one or two you feel would be best for the part, but make note of your other abilities.)
Option 1
"How do those hats work, then?" said Hermione, distracted from her homework and watching Fred and George closely. "I mean, obviously it's some kind of invisibility spell, but it's rather clever to have extended the field of the spell beyond the boundaries of the charmed object… I'd imagine the charm wouldn't have a very long life, though…" – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter Twenty-Four, Occlumency.
Option 2
"Listen to me, Harry," he said urgently, "you must study Occlumency as hard as you can, do you understand me? Do everything Professor Snape tells you and practice it particularly every night before sleeping so that you can close your mind to bad dreams – you will understand why soon enough, but you must promise me –"
– Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter Twenty-Seven, The Centaur and the Sneak.
Auditions are due no later than Wednesday, December 6th at 12:00 PST. The cast will be announced no later than Saturday, December 9th, and your recordings will need to be submitted no later than Saturday, December 16th at 12:00 PST. If you do not have time, please do not commit to this project.
Just remember to have fun – SpellCast is excited to have you involved!
