Spam day

Just got back from lunch with jiggery_pokery. Had a lovely time!

Chris, getting back turned out to be dead easy. I went down the staircase where we parted company and lo, there was a platform where people were waiting for buses! There was a sign on another stair leading down, that read "Waverly/Watertown buses." I followed down the rabbit-hole to... another platform!

Had only been there a couple seconds when a bus pulled up. I hopped on, and it emerged right at the place where the bus I'd ridden down had disappeared (after I'd got off it, that is). Turns out the street is still two-way right up to the bus depot entrance. And we were going the right way to get back to work! Five minutes later, I'm snug back at my desk.

Now, if only I'd remembered to pick up the Accounts Payable check I ordered (while I was still outside), I'd be all set.

Oh, well. I'll pick it up later, when I feel like taking another walk.

Anyway, it was great to see you, Chris! I agree, though: Next time, we'll have to get more people all together at once. Hm. Wonder what movies will be playing in late April. Or maybe I'll be able to hold my housewarming by then....

Lovely to see you too, Gwen! Fingers crossed that we can pick a time when Amy can make it next time. It was easy for me to catch a bus too - I just kept walking in the direction we were going before you descended underground, then saw a 66 catching me up, and sprinted forwards until the next bus stop. Fortunately, it was within a hundred yards. Phew!

I still want to do the http://www.5-wits.com/ thing some day, preferably with a good number of like-minded folk...
