The Prisoner

Okay, I haven't seen anyone else (yet) discuss this, so....
I figured it had to be a dreamscape, but I didn't get until the first couple minutes of episode 5 that it was Helen's dreamscape in which they all shared their roles. I figured it was 6/Michael's dreamscape.
Also didn't expect that 11-12 was born inside the Village, which was a lovely twist. Although I have to point out: Once Again the two closeted gay characters wind up dead - and one of them by suicide! Sigh.
I really liked the ending. I really loved that Curtis/2 devised his own escape clause and effectively entrapped Michael/6 into taking his place. Sort of a banshee / washer at the ford type of deal. Get someone else to take your place, put 313 in the position of Helen, so that she can dream the Village and thus escape her tormented existence in the real world.
Yes, it's not anything new, and yes, it's sort of a cop-out to learn that everyone's living in a split-consciousness shared dream experience, and yes, it's horribly post-modern that Michael takes the "promotion" when he becomes 2, sitting there at Summukor (or however you spell that, never got a good look at it) monitoring all their realities while these people dream out their lives in a sort of new-fangled Matrix.
I don't care. I thought it was a brilliantlyevil elegant solution.
I want 11-12 fanfic, like NOW. (Was The Prisoner on the Yuletide lists?)
