There's so much here that I know I should comment on that I just know I'm going to forget/miss something.

First and foremost: Man, I just love good long stories. This made me wish for a rainy day and hot chocolate to snuggle down with.

You did an incredible job weaving the separate threads throughout the story and having them come together in the end. Sam's class singing "Oh Tannenbaum" and then having the words come back to John as he's speaking to the Askefrue (John, obviously, did much better in high school German than I did.) Dean's Secret Santa thread and his first kiss (the sad little moment of realizing that Dean had no idea of mistletoe's use outside of hunting.) John's struggle to balance hunting with parenting.

There were so many little moments I loved (aside from that horrible retail flashback. *g*) Although, you did manage to remind me of several teachers I disliked for that whole making kids be in the pageant (I wish I'd thought of the Jehovah's Witnesses thing.)

This was just a lovely story, thanks for all the work I know had to go into this.
