I totally agree and, though many wouldn't feel sympathy for that particular plight... I do feel it. I'm sure he warred with himself constantly in these early days and beyond.
I'm so glad I was able to read this in (mostly) one large chunk. I was definitely sucked in from the get-go and didn't want to put it down.
Mind you, you are to blame for me falling asleep fully clothed, on top of the covers, in the spare bedroom last night *g*. Trust me, the story didn't put me to sleep, exhaustion finally did. Fortunately I was able to finish it this morning before my day's activities had to get rolling ;)
