Aw, thanks. Yeah, I feel a little pull in my stomach whenever I reread that last couple of lines, where John just leaves him standing on the road. Poor boys. Poor John, too - he's just in over his head so much of the time, and he makes poor decisions. Psychological warfare is the cruelest kind, and man, he can bring it.
It makes me wonder what he was like when he and Mary fought, or what he would have been like if she'd lived, because some of that was not circumstantial, some of that had to have been learned behaviour over a lifetime.
But I agree, Wee!Chesters with John in the picture is just addictive and SO MUCH fun, even when it's not fun for them.
