Thanks! Yeah, I remember a couple times in middle school learning that people I knew in my class had gone along on some really stupid jaunts....
As for Sam, I think he could have handled himself--clearly already *did* handle himself mostly, but it was easier to call for backup/extraction than to have to stay until he could find another way home.
