Thanks! Never seen "Cruel Intentions" - is that the teen remake of Othello, a la "10 Things I Hate About You?" Or is it some other teen angsty movie?
The fic actually started with the brotherly chat and the idea that Sam had had to call Dean away from a hot date. It went from there - and once I knew what was going on, I figured out it had to go into the attempted "rescue" of Kelly as well. I'm glad the characterization worked - I think Dean would have wanted to "atone" for his part in the incident, even if all he really did wrong was behave like a typical 16-year-old in similar circumstances. I also wanted to play with the idea of who calls for rescue vs. who really needed to be rescued, and I'm kinda pleased with how it turned out.
