Yay for big brothers, indeed! I wanted to play with the idea of who really needed the rescuing, and who asked for it, and who didn't. It was pretty important to me when I realized where the fic was going that Dean try to "save" the people he was nominally there with and for: Sam and Kelly. The fact that Sam calls for rescue, when really he just needs a ride home, vs. Kelly who really does need rescue, but rejects it, helped me shape the boys' frames of mind for that final conversation.
