Dreams = plot bunnies
Mar. 2nd, 2008 12:47 pmSo I had a great dream last night that wound up being a missing episode of Supernatural. I'm trying to remember it now. I really should have written it down immediately, because it was completely realistic.
It involved Bobby. I know it had to do with the boys staying there... And *wasn't* necessarily wee!Chesters, though it did feature John and Caleb. Nargh.
Dang. It was cool. Gone now.
Oh, well. I also have a plot bunny for wee!chesters and Bobby (not related to the dream). It started with wee!Dean, wee!Sam in tow, waking up Bobby in the middle of the night because "Sammy had a nightmare."
We have a double rehearsal today, during which I need to re-read the BAF II submissions and make sure that I can forward any final comments (not text-editing, thank heavens, cause that will take a while) to D so she can provide them to the authors. I've also completed my submission (which is basically CRACK) and I'll re-read it to clean it up and with any luck, it won't be totally St00pid.
Writing this story reminded me in an odd way of creating a design for "Project Runway." Y'know how the designers are under incredible time pressure and they have to conform to challenge criteria and often they're just pulling shit out of their asses to get the challenges done in time? And how they sometimes get so fixated on the concept that they don't necessarily edit stuff out of the garment that shouldn't be there? I feel like that. I probably found things a lot funnier when I was drafting than to someone reading it.
I did my taxes this morning. Yay, TurboTax. At first I was worried because when I finished the Federal filing and went on to the state, it looked like I *owed* taxes. Then I got through income and the basic deductions and I was getting something modest back. Then I entered my rent for the year *and* my commuter pass expenses and I'm getting quite a bit more back. It all goes into the car.
Speaking of which...got the insurance payment too. Yay. So when I'm finally free to go car shopping (which will be after EyeCon at this rate!) I'll have a good down payment. (And if any gods are listening, please don't decide that this means I'm flush. The money is already spoken for. Srsly. Kthxbye.)
ABC Family is showing all the HP movies this weekend. I left the channel on last night for "Sorcerer's Stone." They were wee! And so woobie!
And y'know, the fact that the movie is a visually great but plot-wise terrible adaptation of the book? Totally didn't bother me. Heh. I would even venture to say I enjoyed it.
Though I wasn't paying 100% attention, catching up as I was on LJ and stuff.
And lastly (I think lastly), I really need some additional betas. I love my betas fiercely and they are all wonderful! This is not an aspersion on them at all. It's just that they are all very busy with real lives and lots of travel (lately) and other eeshues, and sometimes I just want a quicker turnaround. I don't need a huge lot of beta help in the area of grammar, though often someone else can help me find my way out of an awkward or lengthy sentence. Mainly I need help in the areas of clarity, in-characterness, and that I'm not rambling or boring or way off-base.
So, flist? Anyone feel like joining my beta group?
Here's some coming attractions currently in my WIP file:
*The rest of Trost Und Freude, which is all drafted; just needs beta-check before posting
*My J2Bigbang fic (which is in the outlining stage now)
*An essay for the SPN.tv essay contest
*Five States, Five Days - Why did Dean take the road trip on which he met Lisa?
*Eating Oranges and Makin' Fake ID's - Dean 'n' Abby perfect the art of fake IDs (Pre-NCIS crossover)
*Sam's first day of school
*Team Sports - Sam wants to play soccer; Dean doesn't want to run for Track.
*Toothbrushes and Mental Floss - Just a bunny at the moment, but it may well involve Caleb lying low with the boys after an arms deal goes south.
*V8 is not Tomato Juice - teen!Sam tries to teach himself about cars
And a lot more!
