ZOMG: Stardust

etakyma and I saw Stardust last night.

ZOMG so good! Perfect. There's not a single person I'd have recast, not a single costume, set, special effect, makeup, or screenplay decision I'd have done differently (except for Claire Danes says "okay" once - or maybe the boy does? - and OK wasn't a common expression until mid-20th C.).

Totally amazing.

We also saw previews for Spiderwick which looks AWESOME. blackholly must be bursting with pride/pleasure, and I can't wait! Also saw a preview for The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising which is already different enough from the book that they couldn't even call it "The Dark is Rising." I'll have to re-read the series before it comes out. And we saw previews for Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Beowulf, which is a little like going from the sublime to the ridiculous. Beo looks to be BAD. I mean seriously, seriously BAD.

But I can't say enough how utterly FABULOUS Stardust was. The score got a little overpowering at times, but man, I kept picking my jaw up off the floor saying, "SQUEE! They're doing it RIGHT."

Heh. Trying to work on that ASOIAF fic. The 4 pages of dreck aren't as cringe-worthy as I first thought, but I still don't know how much I'll keep. I think I need to do all the "headspace" thing before I can really figure out what's worth telling. Gah. This fic is going to make my brain leak out my ears.

Fuckall on TV. Watching LOTR in marathon format as a method of staying in the high fantasy mood.

Well, that's done.

Finished the ASOIAF fic for Yuletide. Didn't even bother to have it beta'd - just re-read it quickly for grammar and sent it off. It's uploaded here:

And it's not awful. It's not particularly good, but it fulfills the request, so yay. Go me.

Back to SPN now! Which is good, because I've got two more plot bunnies as of this weekend.

Four comments have trickled in about my Sandman fic - all very positive. But I'm greedy; I want more! I know, I know, it's LONG. Gotta be patient. To quote Inigo Montoyez, "I hate waiting." BTW, for Sandman peeps who don't know SPN, you also don't need to know Supernatural. So read it.

It's only 11:20 and I don't feel like going to bed, but I feel like it's late. It's because it's Sunday. But no work tomorrow. Yay.
