Spamming, but had to post this link found in
wayfairer's LJ.
Word to your mutha. I keep saying it and saying it and saying it: We are in the midst of a religious civil war. The fundamentalist right is on crusade, and anyone who is not with them shall be recorded on the list of the infidels. It can happen to us more easily than many of us liberal commie scum want to believe possible. CONSTANT VIGILANCE!
On a lighter note, I'm amazed at how much the Plaid Adder's comments about Sesame Street resonated. I can't do a poll, so comment and tell me: How many of you also credit Sesame Street with formative impressions about difference and acceptance? How many still use Sesame Street jingles for counting/Spanish/other basic function?
I *know* there's Schoolhouse Rock fans out there - I use those, too. Here's a real trivia item: Who remembers The Electric Company?
