Yup. You are. And I know exactly what you mean about the people around you. When I worked in the bookshop I encountered that feeling of "what do you mean you don't know/understand ____." Some of it was some of the kids were high school/college and just hadn't done/experienced/lived it yet. Time helps some of it, but sometimes you get tired of no one else grokking anything you say.
