no power

Had a lovely lunch with hp_boston crew and got home (through intermittent storms) to discover the power had gone out long enough to lose the VCR clock. Reset and came out to sitting room. Popped in my Netflick for background and power went out again. Came back on almost immediately, but just as I got the DVD started again, power went out again.

Two and a half hours later, still no power. Nstar's voicemail as of 6:00 pm says they are aware of outages basically all over the fucking area (seriously), and have no estimated time of restoration.

Fuck. It's hot. I have my camping lantern, though, so at least there's light.

Unfortunately, my computer has shut itself down. Will need to power phone and sidekick soon, maybe okay until tomorrow.

Grr. Want my civilization, dammit!

Yikes. That doesn't sound like fun. I don't know how hot it is over there, but it's 90 degrees here. If the temperature's that high where you are, I wish you the best of luck in getting your power (and air conditioning) as back as soon as possible!

Well, I don't have AC, but power was restored about 8:30.

I was wondering about that ... NQ and I were walking around and there were a bunch of traffic lights that were just OUT, and I wasn't sure if it was something local or not.

Glad to hear that you got power back, though!
