As for the fire, I don't think the little, controlled burns they do bother him that much. He didn't seem upset even by the burning house in "Hell House" or heck, the Pilot, apart from being worried about getting Sam out of the apartment.

I think a little nervousness around large fires would have been normal for him as a child, but once he started going with John on hunts, it would dissipate rather quickly. I don't doubt that John would have taught him that fire itself is no bad thing, as long as it's under control. I can well imagine that they lived in places where a wood-burning stove and/or a fire (fireplace or campfire) was the only source of heat, so he'd have had to get used to it sooner or later. At this point, I think he's okay with little fires. It's just the size of this one that had him a little freaked out. Poor w00bie.

And, yeah, John's pretty pissed. But as with all things John, is he pissed at them, or at himself, or both?
