I agree with you. Dean seems to skirt the disrespectful angle with cops. I wonder how much is part of his make up, how much is learned, and how much he could get away with. I can see Dean pushing the envelope and John allowing it. Sometimes. Sam seems to be a bit more reserved when it comes to this, but honestly he seems a more reserved in a lot of ways.
