I think the hard part with any long fic like this, especially where the request was specifically for family bonding, is to keep things balanced. I tell my betas all the time that I worry about spending too much time on the characters' interaction and navel-gazing and not enough forward motion in each chapter.

There's a lot more case - and John / Dean / Sam interaction (no, that's not meant in any way other than Gen!) to come. Stay tuned....
