I love showing them on their various learning curves - to me, that's half the fun of writing pre-series fics. It's important that they all have vulnerabilities that can be exploited.

I really liked Sam in this, too. I hoped to capture him at a point where the hunter-to-be is just emerging, even if he's not aware of it.
